The Department of Energy Systems Engineering, established in 2011 within the Faculty of Technology, began offering undergraduate education in 2012. The graduate programs (master's and doctoral programs) in our department started accepting students in 2012. Our department continues its educational and academic activities with a total of 11 academic staff members, including 4 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professor, and 3 Research Assistants.
General admission requirements stated under Info on the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences on this website are being applied to start this programme. Examinations, assessment and grading are held according to the regulations arranged by the University Senate. Examinations are written examinations however if necessary they can also be performed orally or by practice work.
Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students’ entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.
Graduates may pursue master’s or doctoral programs in fields such as Department of Thermal Engineering, Department of Renewable Energy Systems, Department of Energy Planning and Efficiency, Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Department of Fuels and Combustion Technologies.
