Program Profile
The Department of Energy Systems Engineering, established in 2011 within the Faculty of Technology, began offering undergraduate education in 2012. The graduate programs (master's and doctoral programs) in our department started accepting students in 2012. Our department continues its educational activities with a total of 11 academic staff members, including 4 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professor, and 3 Research Assistants.
Graduate Profiles and Career Prospects
Meeting the growing energy demands caused by population growth, both globally and nationally, and managing existing energy resources efficiently are among the key challenges of today. Our department was established to address these challenges by training graduates with the skills needed to contribute effectively to the energy sector in various fields.
Our students have the opportunity to develop expertise in renewable energy sources, energy production, energy management and policies, energy efficiency, conventional fuels, and their environmental impacts. With this comprehensive foundation, they are prepared to embark on their careers and actively participate in the dynamic energy sector of our country.
Admission Requirements
Qualification Requirements
To graduate, students must complete 240 ECTS credits over eight semesters, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00, and pass all courses.

Further Study Opportunities
Graduates may pursue master’s or doctoral programs in fields such as Department of Thermal Engineering, Department of Renewable Energy Systems, Department of Energy Planning and Efficiency, Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Department of Fuels and Combustion Technologies.
Assessment and Grading
Assessment is based on midterm and final exams, with finals comprising at least 60% of the grade. Summer internships are required, totaling at least 40 working days, with evaluation based on reports and presentations.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must successfully complete all courses in the curriculum across eight semesters (four years), earning a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale.
